After earning a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Ric Remington started gaining praise as a live visual effects artist touring around the US with some of the biggest names in electronic music. He soon started to direct and edit music videos and other promotional content for concerts and festivals. In 2012 he found a home in Denver, CO continuing to create; everything from narrative comedy to content for Fortune 500 companies. In 2015 along with commercial pilot Eric Mills, he started Skyform, an aerial imaging company focused on film and television production. Their work has been shown on Netflix, MTV and in theaters around the country. He continues to edit, shoot and direct from The Decatur Yacht Club, his home office in Denver.
My motivation comes from the evolution—and not the destination. Although individual stories have endings, the stories in our lives work to shape our own paths and therefore are never ending. The stories that make up our lives actually are the substance of our lives. In other words we are the stories we tell ourselves.
Every shot, movement and cut must be arranged in a way that makes an impact. As a seasoned rhythmic editor I do just that. My unique skill set allows me to meaningfully integrate music and audio layers with the moving image to create passionate, truthful work that triggers emotion in the viewer. I am motivated by the unexplainable and beautiful relationship between the moving image and audio. My passion to create comes from experience. It comes from exploration, searching and the pursuit of lifelong learning.
